WELCOME TO 16th IPTS in ANTALYA

Dear Colleagues,

It’s my great pleasure to welcome you to the 16th International Pharmaceutical Technology Symposium in Antalya, which will be held on 10-12 September 2012 under the auspice of Hacettepe University.

IPTS 2012 will feature a theme of “Smart Technologies for Drug Delivery” and will consist of morning and afternoon sessions in each of 3 days. “Drug Delivery for Cancer Using Smart Technology”; “Medical Devices in the Area of Drug Delivery”; “New Approaches from the View of Industry” are the topics for the sessions that will be held. In the context of the industrial session, “Fixed Dose Combination and Co-Packaged Drug Products”; “Value Added Generics or Super Generics”; “Molecular Repurposing” topics will be discussed. There will be plenary lectures and session lectures given by the "Invited Speakers" from all around the world, and also oral presentations selected by the submitted abstracts. The "Poster Session" from different fields of pharmaceutical sciences will be set.

In addition to the sessions mentioned above, there will be a “special regulatory session” that will have distinguished invited lecturers from the Turkish Drug and Medical Device Administration (TİTCK) of the Ministry of Health as well as Pharmaceutical Industry Association of Turkey (TİSD), Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (AİFD), Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Turkey (İEİS) and valuable members of the type variation committee.

IPTS 2012 Exhibition will also be made up of industrial exhibitors.

The International Pharmaceutical Technology Symposium has been organized biennial since 1982 as a pioneer organization, with a boundless enthusiasm of the colleagues from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy at Hacettepe University. The IPTS has become a very well known scientific symposium in pharmaceutical technology, with the precious supports and encouraging of our colleagues all around the world, and also with the contribution of the industrial partners in Turkey. I and my colleagues from the Organizing Committee hope and believe that, as the former IPTSs achieved, the 16th IPTS will offer great opportunities to the scientists for discussing recent topics in the field, will bring the academia, industry and health authorities together for sharing their experiences, and will help all the participants from academia and industry to solve current problems and challenges in practice.

This year’s IPTS has a very special meaning for us because we have dedicated IPTS 2012 to our beloved Prof. Nurşen Ünlü whose unprecedented loss created a deep sadness in our hearts. That is why your participation at the 16th IPTS will be a great support for us. So, please join us in Antalya - Turkey to live the memory of Prof. Nurşen Ünlü as well as exchange the latest topics in science.
