Prof. Dr. Emir Baki Denkbaş is the head of Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine Division at Hacettepe University, The Institute for Graduate Studies in Science and Engineering. Prof. Denkbaş is also currently a faculty member in Faculty of Science, Chemistry Department, Biochemistry Division and Bioengineering Division of The Institute for Graduate Studies in Science and Engineering. “Biopolymeric Systems Research Group” is founded by Prof. Denkbaş during 2000-2001 academic year and he is currently the director of this group. Prof. Denkbaş received “Hacettepe University Research Group Award” in 2000 as a member of “Radiopharmacy Research Group”, “Hacettepe University Award for Encouragement in Science” in 2001 and “The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Award for Encouragement in Science” in 2005. Prof.. Denkbaş has advised 15 MSc and 5 PhD theses. Also, he is the author and co-author of over 60 publications (40 manuscripts in the journals of Science Citation Index and 20 manuscripts in National journals) and book chapters. He serves on editorial board of “Journal of Bioactive and Compatible Polymers”, “Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology” and “The Open Macromolecules Journal”. He also plays a role as a referee of many journals such as “Biomacromolecules”, “Biomaterials”, “International Journal of Pharmaceutics”, “European Polymer Journal”, “Journal of Applied Polymer Science”, ”Materials Letters”, “Reactive and Functional Polymers”, “Biochemical Engineering Journal” and “NANO: Brief Reports and Reviews”.  He has managed 10 research projects as the director which supported by Hacettepe University and TUBITAK. Prof. Denkbaş is also a founder member of “Turkish Controlled Release Society” and head of “Inspection Commission in The Accountancy of Scientific Research Unit” at Hacettepe University.
