She graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy and finished her Ph.D. thesis in the same University. She became associate professor in 1988 and full professor in 1995. She worked as visiting scientist at the Welcome pharmaceutical company in England and Paris-Sud University in France on emulsions followed by her post-doctoral work at the University of Illinois at Chicago between 1991-1992 on protein isolation and characterization. She has founded the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Department and served as President between 1993 and 2007. Prof. Filiz Öner has worked as supervisor of several theses, writer of original research articles, book chapters and received awards with her scientific work on Disperse Systems and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. Dr. Öner is currently continuing her studies as academic staff of the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Department.
