Dr. Levent Öner graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy. He received his M.Sc. degree in 1983 and Ph.D. in 1987 from the same university. He obtained associate professor title in 1989. Dr. Öner worked as visiting scientist at the Wellcome Foundation PDL and London University School of Pharmacy the same year and completed his post-doctoral research studies on microparticulate formulation design at the University of Illinois Faculty of Pharmacy in 1991 – 1992. In 1993, he served as the founder president of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics Subdepartment in Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy. Also in 1993, he founded Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Sciences Technology Research and Application Center (FATUM) and served as president of FATUM until 2007. He received his full professor title in 1995. He is currently serving as President of Subdepartment of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics and working as consultant to the pharmaceutical industry in the field of pharmaceutical technology. Dr. Öner has published in original articles, reviews, books, book chapters on microparticulate drug delivery systems, bioavailability and bioequivalence, experimental design and optimization in pharmaceutical technology and is the owner of 3 patent applications and holds one approved formulation patent. Dr. Levent Öner is married with one child.
