After taking a law degree at Ankara University in 1995, Tuğbay Ekinli had Commercial Law English Programme at the same University and Cour de Sorbonnes, advanced level French courses, at the French Cultural Centre in Ankara. After practicing as in-house legal counsel in real estate and time-sharing business in several reputable companies for a few years, he worked for Oz&Oz Law Firm. He then joined Kızılkaplan Factoring / Ulusal Leasing Group in 2000 where he was responsible for all legal matters of the group.

After he joined Tepe Group of Companies – Tepe Real Estate Investment and Construction where he worked as Legal Counsel until 2006, he involved in many M&As. During his career at Tepe Group he also practiced litigations and provided legal counselling on the day-to-day legal issues.

In early 2006, he was appointed Legal Affairs Manager – Legal Counsel of the French car manufacturer PSA Group – Peugeot Turkey. Reporting to the Global Legal Direction in Paris, he was the head of the Legal Management of the PSA Group of Companies in Turkey. He leaded the workgroups for compliance of EU competition legislation in automotive business in Turkey. He was also responsible of the Group’s corporate and institutional relations with the administrative bodies.

He joined GlaxoSmithKline – Turkey as the Legal Counsel in 2007. He is responsible for all the legal matters of GlaxoSmithKline in Turkey.  

He has strong knowledge and experience in IP Law, Commercial Law, Competition Law, Labour Law, Criminal Law, Real Estate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions and Finance Law. He is fluent in English, French and Turkish.

Tuğbay is a member of AIFD (Association of Research Based Pharmaceutical Companies) as well as many of the sub-committees of AIFD such as Anti-Counterfeiting and IPR.
